BBC Worldwide sells WHEN HARVEY MET BOB to BBC America. The channel will screen the 90 minute film – about how Bob Geldof  and Harvey Goldsmith got together in 1985 to create a legend – in the USA on 30th December at 9pm.

ROOM AT THE TOP will film in Yorkshire from 24th November to 18th December. The two-part tv film, set in 1948, will shoot on locations around Leeds, Halifax, Bradford and the north-east coast. It stars Matthew McNulty and Maxine Peake, is directed by Aisling Walsh and produced by Paul Frift. It is based on the classic novel by John Braine, is adapted by Amanda Coe and will be shown on BBC4 in 2011.

Shooting begins next week in Dublin on WHEN HARVEY MET BOB. The film, starring Ian Hart as Harvey Goldsmith and Domhnall Gleeson as Bob Geldof will be shot in 16 days from Monday 5th July to Monday 26th July. The director is Nick Renton and Catherine Magee is producing.

reat Meadow’s BBC4 film THE LONG WALK TO FINCHLEY has received four more major nominations – in the 2009 Broadcasting Press Guild Awards for Best Single Drama, Best Multichannel and Best Actress (Andrea Riseborough) and for Best Single Drama in the 2009 RTS Awards.

Double award nomination for ‘THE LONG WALK
27th November 2008. Today Great Meadow Productions received two nominations as the 2009 Broadcast Awards shortlist was announced. MARGARET THATCHER – THE LONG WALK TO FINCHLEY attained the third highest viewing figures ever for BBC4 when broadcast in June, and has been nominated for Best Single Drama and Best Multichannel Programme.

Iron Lady a copper-bottomed hit for BBC.
13th June 2008. MARGARET THATCHER – THE LONG WALK TO FINCHLEY. Great Meadow Productions much anticipated drama was watched by nearly 1 million on BBC4. The figures, representing a 5.2% audience share, were the third highest ever achieved by the channel.

8th April 2008. Great Meadow Productions to follow their eagerly-awaited comedy on the young Mrs Thatcher with a new film tracking her downfall. Today Great Meadow announced the leading lady and director now attached to their major television drama examining the downfall of Margaret Thatcher. MARGARET, which the BBC is part-funding, is set to star Lindsay Duncan as the Iron Lady in the film. Also attached is director James Kent, who directed the acclaimed biopic of Elizabeth David for BBC FOUR. Great Meadow confirmed that BBC Worldwide are talking to broadcasters at the MIP-tv market in order to secure further finance for the drama, which is likely to have widespread international appeal.
